The Humantay Lagoon is one of the most emblematic lagoons of all Peru, since, with its turquoise water and the Nevado next to it, make this a unique place that you can not miss during your stay in Cusco, you only need one day to visit this beautiful place.
This beautiful turquoise water mirror that presents the Humantay Lagoon is due to the crystallinity of the water and the green microalgae possibly of the species Microcystis aeruginosa and Oscillatoria, and the reflection of the blue sky plus the reflection of the sun. Itinerary
Early in the morning, at 04:30 a.m. approx. departure from Cusco, for a 2 hours trip by paved road to the town of Mollepata (2900 m.a.s.l.), where we will stop for less than an hour in the restaurant to have breakfast, then we will return to the transport to travel for 1 hour more by a dirt road, to Soraypampa (3900 m. We will start the 1 hour and a half hike to the Humantay Lagoon (4200 m.a.s.l.) or we will also have the option of renting the horses that will take us to the lagoon (1 hour of ascent).
Upon arrival at the Humantay lagoon, we will be located in a special place to take pictures and videos, as well as to enjoy this majestic place.
On the return, we will go directly to the restaurant in the town of Mollepata, to eat and finally return to the city of Cusco, arrival at approximately 18:00 hrs.
A light backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek, for a wide range of temperature changes, since, if it rains, it is important to have an extra change of socks and clothes in general.
